A variety of products are manufactured to suit different needs of laptop users; laptop screens are therefore also produced with specific needs of users in mind. Advancements in screen technology over the years has led to the creation of more portable, flexible and efficient devices in today’s digital world. This in fact presents internet users, freelancers, students and individuals who make use of laptops to make choice of monitor screen size, brand choice among other factors that could aid their productivity while operating their gadget (Laptop).

Computer screen resolution plays a vital role in display quality. For designers, video editors, photographers and front end developers, screen resolution can determine task duration since display sharpness usually defines skill competence, the proper resolution also contributes to the overall efficiency and productivity of designers who esteem detail as a priority when making designs and sketches.

Basically, the native resolution (the total number of pixels that a screen has the ability to display) and video card hardware are major factors that determine the optimum display resolution set-up for a computer monitor (Kindly note that the recommended resolution found in your window display settings is your native resolution).

Although a lower resolution will perform fairly well on your monitor, resolutions higher than the native resolution will not give a convenient display to the end user. In essence, although screen resolution means better quality, higher resolution on a smaller screen would not count as optimum due to the fact that resolution is tied to the number of pixels your monitor can display; setting the resolution beyond or below your monitor’s native resolution will only lead to poorly displayed images.

Below are common native screen resolution and their economical significance to computer users:

1680 X 1050px

This is the most affordable screen resolution available, although it is now an obsolete display resolution for most tech savvy individuals, it is still widely in use in old laptop (not high end laptop) users.

1920 X 1080

This type of resolution can be found in most recent computer monitors and is usually referred to as the standard resolution for modern computers. Gamers are major consumers of this type of screen resolution. The 1080p is usually the least screen resolution recommendation that can be found today, getting a lesser resolution for an average computer user is not a wise choice in today’s world

2560 X 1440

Although screens with this type of native resolution are expensive and can cost as much as a PC, however, a satisfying display/output will be experienced when working with this type of screen.

3840 X 2160

This type of native screen resolution is not as rampart as those discussed above, as a matter of fact, it will take some years for the 4k UHD (3840 X 2160) to be widely acceptable by users in terms of screen size. Studies have shown that the 4k UHD display is four (4) times the display quality of 1080p.

TechniconNg advice that the least native screen resolution to opt for when getting a new PC should be at least 1080p as this gives great display and it is usually within the average budget for a laptop.
